This beetle is gray with black markings on the elytra. It has a wedge like shape and is about 3/8 inches long. It has a pointed abdomen.

 

Beetles in this family are often found on flowers. This one was found in Childs Hollow. Its overall occurrence at Fontenelle Forest is not known.

 

Tumbling flower beetles have the habit of jumping or tumbling when captured. They are also known as pintail beetles for the abdominal tip which aids them in their various movements.
