The Aproned Sparganothis has a wingspan of about .75 inch. The forewing is chocolate brown with yellow patches along the costa and a yellow band along the outer margin. Sometimes the brown areas are reduced to a thin crescent along the costa. The hindwing is white.
The frequency of occurrence in this area is not known. Two individuals were photographed in mid-June at Neale Woods coming to lights. The main flight period is April to August. The range is southeastern Canada and the northeastern U.S.
The host plants are unknown.
