LONG-HORNED BEETLES (Cerambycidae)
This beetle is almost 1 inch long. It is a black beetle with white markings on the elytra (male) or yellow (female). Both sexes have black and yellow markings below. The head, thorax and legs are covered with white hairs.
These beetles are found in deciduous forests. They were photographed on Redbud trail towards the end of April, 2013.
Habits of this beetle are similar to the red headed ash borer. It belongs to the round-necked longhorn beetle family (Cerambycinae).
