The Belted Leafroller moth has a total length of about .50 inch. The forewing is gray with a reddish basal area. There is a thick black median band edged with pale gray. The distal one-third has a reddish tint with blackish spots. The terminal band consists of black dots. The hindwing is tan with no markings.

 

This moth is fairly common in this area. It has been photographed at Neale Woods in June 2016 and Fontenelle Forest in July 2016. Adults fly from June to August.

 

The larvae eat the leaves of Basswood trees.
