This is an orange and black beetle about ½ inch long. It has antler like antenna characteristic of the scarab beetles. It was identified with the help of experts at Bugguide.Net.
This beetle was found in the prairie at Neale Woods in July. Its overall occurrence at Fontenelle Forest is not known.
