BRIGHTON’S EPIBLEMA MOTH

TORTRICID MOTH FAMILY (Tortricidae)

This is a small gray and brown moth, approximately 3/8 inch in length. It is easily recognized at rest because of the bold brown spot on its back.

 

This moth was photographed in Fontenelle Forest in early July. It is attracted to lights.

 

Very little is known about this moth. However, many members of the family Tortricidae are fruit pests.
