The Bronzy Macrochilo has a wingspan of about 1 inch. The forewing is bronze brown with a paler subapical dash. Some individuals are paler with brown streaks along the veins. A black bar goes through the orbicular and reniform spots. The hind wings are pale gray and plain. The larva grows to less than an inch long. It is reddish brown with a white sub-dorsal stripe that extends the length of the body. There are pale orange dorsal bands at the segments. The head is pale brown with faint markings.

The frequency of occurrence of the Bronzy Macrochilo in this area is not known. It was photographed twice in 2014 at Fontenelle Forest Nature Center in late August.

The larval host is probably various grasses. Other common names for this species are Streaked Fan-foot and Chocolate Fan-foot.
