This is a bright orange beetle. It was identified to genus by experts at Bugguide.net.
We don’t know the overall occurrence of this beetle at Fontenelle Forest. This beetle was photographed on the plaza of the nature center.
Anomoea is a genus of leaf beetles in the subfamily Cryptocephlinae or case bearing leaf beetles. They are named for their habit of carrying a case of waste material as larvae.
