Horsetails
The Horsetails (Equisetum) represent the only surviving genus of a class of vascular plants which dominated our understory landscape for over a hundred million years. They are vascular plants which reproduce by spores. We have identified two species in our two nature centers so far, but a few others and hybrids are known to exist in our area.
