STINK BUG FAMILY (Pentatomidae)

This rounded stink bug is about 3/8th of an inch long, yellowish with tiny black dots. It feeds on native grasses, especially Virginia Wild Rye (Elymus virginicus), which is abundant on the floodplain of Fontenelle Forest.

 

The abundance of this insect in our two nature centers not yet known, but it has only been seen and photographed after several seasons of looking for insects.
