COLORFUL FOLIAGE GROUND BEETLE

This is a reddish brown beetle 5-7mm long (1/4 th of an inch). It was identified with the help of experts at Bugguide.net.

 

In the summer they are active on flowers and foliage. They often come to lights. This beetle is believed to be common in Fontenelle Forest.

 

Adults feed on plant lice and other insects.
