A black and yellow leaf beetle about 1/10th of an inch long. It was identified with the help of experts at Bugguide.net. It has a nearly cylindrical body and the last abdominal segment is nearly visible beyond the elytra.
This beetle was photographed at Neale Woods. Its occurrence at Fontenelle Forest and Neale woods is not known. It is often found on leaves, flowers and fruits of various plants.
It belongs to the subfamily Cryptocephalinae or cylindrical leaf beetles. The color patterns of the beetles in this genus are usually indicative of the species.
