This beetle is about 1/3rd of an inch long. It is a rather flattened beetle metallic reddish-brown in color and covered with a silky pubescence. It has prominent eyes and relatively short antenna. It was identified to genus by experts at Bugguide.net.
Beetles of this genus are found on a variety of plants. Its occurrence at Fontenelle Forest is unknown.
