This is a black beetle with 2 short white stripes on the elytra. It is about 1/3rd of an inch long. It was identified with the help of experts at Bugguide.net
This beetle is often found on flowers. We expect it to be common at Fontenelle Forest. This one was photographed along Stream Trail.
This beetle belongs to the subfamily Cerambycinae or round necked long horned beetles. Members of this genus are among the smallest of the long horned beetles. These beetles are often ant like and attractively marked.
