This fungus is yellow or orange in color. It is petal or fan shaped with a short stalk and with a jelly like or gelatinous texture (Photos B and C show the fan shape).
It is uncommon in Fontenelle Forest, growing from cracks in fallen logs.
In Chinese culture, it is called literally “sweet osmanthus ear,” referring to its similarity in appearance to that flower.
