FLAT FACED LONGHORN BEETLE

Eupogonius pauper
LONG HORNED BEETLE FAMILY (Cerambycidae)

This beetle is about 1/3 inches long. It is light brown with black spots. Members of this subfamily are recognized by their flat faces that are vertical or slanting backward. Members of this subfamily often are hairy.

 

It was photographed under artificial lights at the Wetlands learning center in June. Its occurrence at Fontenelle Forest is not known.

 

It belongs to the Laminae subfamily of the long horn beetles.
