FLAT POWDER-POST BEETLE

LONG-HORNED BEETLES (Cerambycidae)

A light brown colored beetle about 1/3rd of an inch long. It was identified by experts at Bugguide.net.

 

This beetle is found in the dry heartwood of various hardwoods incl. oak, hickory, maple. This one was photographed at Neale Woods as it was attracted to lights set up to attract moths. Its overall occurrence at Fontenelle Forest is not known.
