A mottled light brown and dark brown beetle about 1/2 inch long (12 mm). Characteristic of this family the antennae are very long. Photo A is the male and Photo B is the female (with ovipositor). This beetle was identified with the help of experts at Bugguide.net.

This beetle is found associated with numerous hardwood trees. We would expect it to be common in Fontenelle Forest. These two were photographed at the nature center.

It comes to UV lights.
