This Ichneumon wasp is about 1 inch overall including the ovipositor. The thorax, abdomen and legs are red and yellow. The antennae are yellow with black bands. The wings are clear with a black triangular mark on the leading edge. This wasp was identified by a volunteer expert at Bug Guide.
This wasp is only known from one sighting when it was photographed in early June in Fontenelle Forest.
This Ichneumon wasp is a parasite of the nests of Ceratina bees. The larvae eat the eggs, larva and pollen with which the brood cell has been provisioned.
