HONEYLOCUST TREEHOPPER

This is a very small treehopper, about 1/8th of an inch long (3 mm). It is found in the eastern and midwestern US.

 

As the common name implies, it prefers Honeylocust trees, but the individual in photo 1 was photographed on Wingstem in Fontenelle Forest floodplain in early June 2014.  The individual in photos 2 and 3 was found in the Fontenelle Forest wetland butterfly garden.

 

This treehopper is polyphagous, that is, it takes plant juices from a wide variety of plants
