This wasp is approximately 1 3/8 inches in length. It is all dark brown to black except for the orange head, antennae and legs. This ichneumon belongs to the subfamily Anamaloninae. Members of this subfamily have a slender appearance. They are orange and black, have long legs and a long laterally compressed abdomen with the first segment being very elongated. This wasp was identified to subfamily by expert volunteers at the BugGuide website.
The occurrence of this wasp is only known from one photo taken on 8/15/08 in Fontenelle Forest.
The prey and nesting habits of this wasp are unknown.
