Olethreutes lacunana
TORTRICID MOTH FAMILY (Tortricidae)

This moth is only about 1/2 inch long. It is mottled gray, brown and black, and it is attracted to light. This specimen was photographed at night near the Wetlands Learning Center in Fontenelle Forest. It was identified with the help of David Reed and BugGuide.

 

The abundance of this moth in our two nature centers is unknown at this time.

 

Little is known about this moth. However, many members of family Tortricidae are considered to be fruit pests.
