This beetle is about 1/3 of an inch long. It is yellow and black in color. It was identified by experts at Bugguide.net.

 

Adult beetles of this genus are active during daytime on the foliage and flowers of various plants. This one was photographed on goldenrod at Camp Brewster. Its overall occurrence at Fontenelle Nature Center is not known.

 

Larva are predaceous on the pupa of leaf beetles. Most ground beetles are on ground predators. This beetle belongs to the tribe Lebiini which includes the colorful foliage ground beetles. These are unlike other ground beetles.
