OSBORNELLUS LEAFHOPPER

OSBORNELLUS LEAFHOPPER

Osbornellus sp.
LEAF HOPPERS (Cicadellidae)

This is a brown leafhopper with white spots and stripes. As with most leaf hoppers it has a row of spines along the outer edge of the hind tibia. It was identified with the help of experts at Bugguide.net.

This bug was photographed at the nature center. Its overall occurrence at Fontenelle Forest is not known.

This bug often cocks the hind legs to better facilitate escape from predators with a quick long leap.
