This beetle is around ½ inch to 1 inch (12.0-28.0 mm) long. It is a green beetle with yellow sides. Each elytron has a yellow stripe and yellow tip. The legs and last abdominal segments are reddish brown. It was identified with the help of experts at Bugguide.net

Adults are found in deciduous hardwoods that are dead or dying. Its occurrence in Fontenelle Forest is not known but we would expect it to be common.

Adults are active in the spring and summer. Members of this family are metallic and bronzed and the elyral tip is often pointed.
