6.0 inches long. The Rock Wren is la relatively large wren. It has a long bill and long tail. The upperparts are gray with white speckles. It has a cinnamon rump, buffy tail tips, and a broad blackish tail band. The breast is finely streaked.

A very rare, casual visitor to eastern Nebraska.

The Rock Wren bobs its body especially when alarmed. The song is a variable mix of buzzes and trills.
