This beetle is about ½ inch long. It has several pale markings on the elytra but the yellow basal line on the elytra is diagnostic. It was identified by experts at Bugguide.net.
This beetle is found in deciduous forests. The larvae are most commonly found in hickory trees. We would expect it to be common at Fontenelle Forest. This beetle was photographed as it came to lights at Neale Woods.
It is attracted to UV lights.
