This larva of a sawfly was not able to be identified by the experts at BugGuide. Many of these sawfly larvae are notoriously difficult to be identified, according to the experts. It was found in May of 2012 on Wood nettle (Laportea canadensis).

 

The abundance of thes larva or their adult sawfly form is yet unknown. This is the only specimen seen and photographed in Fontenelle Forest so far.
