The Similar Pelochrista has a wingspan of about 7/8 inch. The forewing is pinkish-gray with fine brown vermiculations. A U-shaped dark chestnut patch extends through the median area. A lighter chestnut patch in the subterminal area points to the anal angle. The hindwing is dirty white with pale brown shading toward the outer margin.
The frequency of occurrence is not known. One individual was photographed at Neale Woods in early September coming to artificial lights. Adults fly from July to September.
The larva feeds in the rootstocks of Goldenrod. The name was recently changed from Similar Eucosma (Euosma similiana).
