This little Crambid moth has a wingspan of about .50 inch. The forewing has an extensive brownish patch in the median area. The basal area is whitish, and on fresh individuals, has a light orange wash. There is a partial white subterminal line and a white subreniform spot. In most individuals the white legs are striped with pale orange.
The frequency of occurrence at Fontenelle Forest and Neale Woods is not known. This moth was photographed at Fontenelle Forest coming to artificial lights in late August 2013.
The host plant is unknown. This is the only species in the genus Lipocosmodes in North America.
