This beetle is about ¾ inch long. It is brownish-yellow with mottled dark spots on the elytra. Like most long horned beetles it has antenna longer than the body. It has spiny projections on the antenna and on the femoral leg segments accounting for its name. This beetle was identified with the help of experts at Bugguide.net.
Its overall occurrence at Fontenelle Forest is not known. This one was photographed at the Wetlands learning center in July of 2009. It was attracted to lights at night.
