This Squash Bug is about an inch long, with the female somewhat larger than the male. They do not have the “leaf-foot” of the other Leaf-Footed Bugs. This species was identified with the help of volunteer experts at BugGuide. The bright antennae tips is one of the distinguishing features.

These bugs are probably common in this area.  Ranges from Nebraska east.  Sightings were of mating pairs on Bur Cucumber (Sicyos angulatus) vines, their preferred food source.
