THREE-SPOTTED FILLIP

The Three-spotted Fillip has a wingspan of approximately 1 inch. The forewing is pale yellowish-tan with 3 chocolate brown triangular spots evenly spaced along the costa. The hindwings are creamy white, shiny and smaller than the forewings.

 

The Three-spotted Fillip has been photographed twice in Fontenelle Forest, on June 2, 2015 at the nature center and 7/22/15 at Camp Logan Fontenelle. Adults fly from April to September.

 

The larvae feed on the leaves of Maples.
