This small moth has a wingspan of about .75 inch. The wings are dark brown with the forewing outer margins concave. Both wings have white fringes. The forewing of the male has a conspicuous white rectangle in the outer median area. The antennae are brown and the legs are white. The larvae of this species is unkown.
The frequency of occurrence is not known. The individual shown here was photographed at Camp Brewster, Fontenelle Forest in mid-August 2012. The adults are nocturnal and are attracted to artificial lights.
The larval food is unrecorded.
