Funnel-Web Spiders
Funnel-web Spiders weave their large webs horizontally near the ground. The web includes a funnel, which is used by the spider to wait for prey to fall onto the non-sticky web. They can then dash out very quickly to catch any prey temporarily entangled in this web. These webs are common in the forest in late summer, especially on a dewy morning.
