This small spider, about 1/4 inch long, can best be found when morning dew reveals its web, a filmy dome (C). On sunny days the thin silky dome refracts the sunlight and creates a sparkling display which also gives away the presence of this species (D). These spiders have a dark line down the bottom of their abdomen and a varied, white on dark pattern on their sides. Compare with the Bowl and Doily Spider (Frontinella pyramitela) which has similar size and shape, but different coloration and a different web shape.

Considered uncommon in Fontenelle Forest, with a presumed similar abundance at Neale Woods. Best seen on vegetation near the ground on a sunny day – look for the sparkling refraction of sunlight from a domed web.
