These crab spiders are difficult to identify to species. The consensus among volunteer experts at BugGuide was that these two (A,B,C & D,E) belong to the genus Mecaphesa. Although designated as a separate species, the species has not yet been written up or accepted. In the meantime, they have given the first one the temporary name of Miecaphesa unksix, to indicate that it is the sixth, yet to be accepted species of this genus (as of August 2010).
The abundance of this genus in Fontenelle Forest (FF) and Neale Woods is not yet known. It was photographed in (FF) during August.
