MARPISSA JUMPER

Marpissa formosa
(Salticidae)

This jumper was found during a “bioblitz” of Fontenelle Forest in early June 2014. This specimen is a male as shown by the pedipalps (or palps) shown in the first image. These two appendages in front of the spider’s face are used in mating.

 

The abundance of this species in Fonetelle Forest or Neale Woods in not yet known.
