This small orb-weaving spider grows to less than 1/4 of an inch long. It has a tan, egg-shaped abdomen with a distinctive, darker brown or reddish pattern on top (A,B). These spiders seem to build their webs closer to the ground.

 

Only rarely seen in Fontenelle Forest so far, but not yet surveyed at Neale Woods. Image (C) was taken on the Fontenelle Forest floodplain in late June 2013.
